Anyone ever a reading in front of large (probably hundred and fifty or so) group?
Might be doing one later in the year and have zero experience of such things...

I don't even like reading my stuff aloud to myself!

I read in front of 50-70ish in Wales last year, which was a nervewracking but thrilling experience. Unfortunately it wasn't a genre crowd, and in graphically describing the injuries sustained in a coalmining disaster (two days after its centenary!)I thought I might be upsetting people, so I cut it a bit short. I'll go back with a more light-hearted story next year.

^Yes, this would be a work crowd. Was thinking of doing a Christmas ghost story but really not sure about it

Fine tradition, great idea, and a good stepping stone to the FantasyCon reading cafe. I say go for it.

I've only ever done presentations for work in front of crowds. It gets easier with experience... A reading will be slightly different in that you're not really trying to get points across and you can concentrate on the actual reading rather than trying to remember what you're saying and focusing on the audience. Thing to remember is, the audience are on your side and want you to do well.
