Finished The Beautiful Red - thanks for the tip Ross, the stories were superb (tho I had read a few of themn already in BS). I ordered You Are the Fly off the back of it.
Just started Gary McMahon's All Your Gods Are Dead.

Mate you will be awe struck by 'In Fetu'. He also has a novella called 'Terrra Damnata' due in March from PS Publishing

Finished All Your Gods Are Dead - brilliant, dark and disturbing and pretty guesome. At the other end of the spectrum in terms of quality to Hostel (given that there are similar plot devices).
Jusat started You Are The Fly.

You are referred to as a 'so called horror fan' on the black static thread on tta. I pulled the guy on it. His response is interesting. I'm in Poland so can't respond yet

Finished You Are The Fly - another stunning collection. I agree In Fetu was amazing but what I'm left with more than anything is some of the images in "The Skin I'm In" which made me wince.
Just started "Dark Corners" by Stephen Volk which contains a story Gary McMahon says he wishes he'd written - "Three fingers, one thumb". I've read it now and I agree, I wish I'd written it too.

Black Static 21 - Loved the Cooper story and it seemed to go hand in hand with Stephen Volk's opinion piece.
Also trying to clear the two or three novels I have on the go ready for the release of The Wise Man's Fear next week

Just finished Bruce Parry's Arctic - the tie in to the TV series - just for some light relief. Next up is One Monster Is Not Enough by Paul Finch.

Finished One Monster is not Enough - which was enjoyable enough but very traditional, old-school stuff. It was good but I wouldn't rave about it as much as some have.
Next up The Absence by Bill Hussey - another R Warren recommendation. I expect great things...

Not yet - but I ordered them both at the same time so it's on the TBR pile...

finished 'all the pretty horses' last night - not as much 'horror' as 'blood meridian' but a few little glimpses into mccarthy's 'mexican nightmares'. one of the best novels i have ever read. starting 'the crossing' next.

Really liked All The Pretty Horses - typically bleak stuff. They made a pretty good film of it too with ?Matt Damon.

if i ever read a 'jolly' mccarthy the missus better hide the razor blades! haven't seen the film but can't believe they could make a good one of it, will have to check it and see. did you try 'child of god'? now that was bleak! and the cross dressing scene makes norman bates look like lily savage...
