Any tips for getting back to the coal face? Barely written anything this year bar a flash fiction for SFX comp and a few reviews, even those I'm having to gut out, and find myself sat at the keyboard like a Zombie!

the only solution I know is to write. I know that sounds silly BUT if you have an idea write 500 words on it even if they're shite. Then sit down tomorrow and add another 500 and so on and so on. Most of the time it is mental and even if what you think is it doesn't matter the very act of writing oils up the machinery and gets it purring.
Even if what you write at first isn't a story it could develop into one or at least get you working.
500 words by end of play tonight on the worst takeaway you've ever been in - sights, smells, description of owner and any other customers. Dialogue if you can. get it done! ;-)

I completely agree. Just write. Anything. Ideas and inspiration will come but you have to get used to just writing. I've got bits and pieces all over, descriptions of views, what happened at work... all shit but I forced myself just to sit down and write. My reviews are another form of this - instilling the discipline to sit down and write. You can't force inspiration but it will come naturally once you're in the flow.
I'm using Dark Markets for ideas, writing to order so to speak. It seems to be working.
Good luck anyway.
