One spokesman said they would be watching CCTV footage to identify rioters and make arrests which is balls cause they are all wearing bloody hoods, scarfs and balaclavas!

The original demo was a peaceful reaction to a shooting and then loads of idiots are just using it as an excuse to vandalise and steal

London seems quiet (although there are a few things happening which aren't hitting the news too much - loads of riot police in canning town and apparantly police have been attacked elsewhere)

riots are always strange and sometimes best viewed with a few years hind sight to see the real causes. recently read about riots at the start of the american civil war and scholars still argue today about whether there was any organisation/politics behind them. the criminal underclass will always come out to riot but it's more about why they are convinced to and who else was out that makes the real issues.
