Got my issue yesterday. Only read the columns so far, enjoyed the Fowler and Folk articles but found the O'Driscoll a little dry and dull.

So far read the Bestwick and Campbell stories, both of which were top draw.

Thought this was a really strong issue -and yes, the Campbell and Bestwick stories are the best. Mixed feelings about Still Life though, having got the TTA rejection slip for Dead of Night Full review in the usual place... ;D

Quality review as always, and I'd have to agree on the covers.

Finished the stories and I'd have to agree that the Lees story, although well written, seemed out of place for Black Static.

Not overly impressed with BS 24. I havn't read much Campbell but felt his story was overlong for a fairly standard pay-off. The writing was good but too flowery for my simple tastes 'Dermot' was probably my favourite with some fantastic writing but I guessed the idea, and ending of the story very early on. I may have been spoilt by the magnificance of BS23 so my views are subject subject to questioning lol

only read the campbell so far and, alas, felt the same. i just don't seem to connect with his stuff that well. the only one of his i have really enjoyed was in the mammoth book of monsters. i'll try and get the rest read over the weekend.
