Anyone else really looking forward to his new tome?

Kind of mixed for me. I love King, but lately a few new ones have left me a little disappointed. Cell was the turning point I think, and though Under the Dome was okay, it didn't compare to the classics or even later volumes like Duma Key and Lisey's Story which I really enjoyed. Plus time travel and JFK is a bit, well, done, isn't it? I'll no doubt buy it, though, because the worst time I've had with King has still been a damn good time.
On the plus side, I read his story in the Book of Horrors collection the other day and that was proper King, great stuff. Totally recommend.

Yeah a great little tale, still a superb short writer. Under the Dome could have done with a trim and Blaze was little more than a trunk novel but the stories in Full Dark, No Stars were great.

Agreed, especially the first two stories. Brilliant. Favourite King?

IT, but it was my first so I may be slightly biased towards it. Followed in no particular order by Bag of Bones, Duma Key, Pet Semetary, 'Salem's Lot and Lisey's Story

I'd agree with all of those, but I have a special spot for The Shining (he's writing a sequal apparently...)
He writes so well in such a variety of genres it's actually a horrible question to ask, really, picking a favourite. I take it back becasue I can't do it myself.

There was a somewhat mixed review of this in The Times at the weekend, but it boiled down to being a positive one. And if you don't mind the over-writing (I don't mind so much when it's King) it's even more positive. And there's a sub-plot I'm looking forward to more than the main one...

Personally I'm really enjoying it. King's character building is supreme

the last couple i've bought have turned me off a bit to be honest, huge fan of his shorts and novellas but not of the novels.

Have you read his short in the Book of Horrors? It's got a flavour of his early collections about it. Also a new short in the new issue of Granta Literature Magazine's Horror Special.

A stunning novel. Joyful and heartbreaking in equal measure. The ending is sublime.

I bought this recently and I've only read the first chapter (I wasn't meant to, I'm still reading The Passage) but it does look like the old King so far, which is great. Already love the main character.

Started reading this about a week ago and am two thirds the way through. I think it's brilliant. Totally immersed in the plot, can't wait to see how it all works out.
JIMLA!
