On a positively Saharan barren patch and would be grateful for any publishing credit right now. So when some people on my creative writing course put together an anthology I pulled my crime and revenge short story Carve Up, which I am hugely proud of, from Crimewave and sent it to them instead, opting for the guaranteed publication, even if unpaid and low profile.
It didn't make the cut. Despite them having room for about 80 stories, it didn't make the cut.
I know we have to expect a certain amount of rejections, but this one really hurts.

Yeah, I know; world's smallest violin. I hear it too.

Always happy to give my thoughts on stories before you send them out. Ben is right though!

I'm not sure what I hate most - the rejections, or the quiet times waiting...
Gotta keep sending them out there
