Good for you Ross. I've found that you have to provide dedicated time to writing if you're going to achieve anything, you can't wait for the Muse to strike, you have to make yourself sit down and start typing. (Yes, I have just re-read "On Writing"). I don't work Mondays now and that's my writing day - I can knock out 3000 words if I apply myself.
I'm resisting the urge to edit as I go too, something I've been guilty of in the past, I'm just getting the words on the page while I've got some momentum. Tarting up comes later.
Good luck with it.

Well done. I do the same thing, most days. Do a bit of writing, then all the admin stuff, then a bit more writing in the evening - especially the scary bits.

Funny you should mention 'On Writing' mate, I listened to it on audiobook last week! Set myself a 1k a day word limit with no editing till I've finished and it's settled for a while.

Yeah, I read it when it first came out but saw it had been updated so had another read of the new version. Inspirational stuff and great advice.

I think it's just an updated recommended booklist at the end. It's over ten years since I first read it so it all seemed fresh and new anyway...
