The death of both my parents, two months and six days apart, has turned my world over. I'm an only child, not whining, but the amount of stuff needing doing has floored me. I have three houses, all these antiques and a major headache.
My job has been sucking these last threee years. Now with a little money, no debt, and major hassles, I don't think I can take it any more.
I think today, I'll ask to get out of my contract. This may be my last day as a teacher. I just hate the way teaching has become and see nothing but harassment and failing observations from here on anyway. You wouldn't belive the political situation here.
I'm a 21 year veteran. I just can't work under these incredible, stupid new rules. I've watched veteran teachers dropping like flies these past years. I thought I could stick it out. I can't.
It's going to be hard for me. I've been at the same job for 21 years. I may just take the rest of the year off, draw, work on my website, then try to get another teaching job next year.
I've got other irons in the fire too. I'm thinking of getting my funeral director's license back and turning one of my land lots into a "green" cemetery.
Green cemeteries are a coming trend. No embalming, the person is buried as naturally as possible in a woodland. There are no headstones, you can visit the grave using a GPS. It's burial in a natural, woodland setting.
It's really a way to legitimize a cheap burial. The price is comparable to direct creamation. I think it will go over. I really do.
