21 years of teaching and it all ends Thursday.
There are no hard feelings at my work. I'll still be a certified teacher for the next 5 years (before I have to renew my certificate and provide evidence of extended learning). I won't, but I'll be able to get another teaching job if I so desire.
I'm not even going to think about finding another job untill August. Till then, I'll draw every day, then spend a couple of hours on the computer. Get ready for a renewed thrust into the Ghastly Door. It's about to take off.
I also get to really persue a book deal. This is exciting. I really don't have anything to worry about, but I still do.

Well done Will. I'm seriously considering going part time so I can spend more time on my writing which I find a lot more fulfilling than my job...

Today is it!
Believe it or not, there's still stress involved. I really have nothing to worry about. I have more than enough to last me till I start drawing my pension (8 years) but I still feel weird.
I've worked all my life.....WOW!
My plan is to just draw, work on my website, and deal with my parents antiques, till the end of August. At that time, my wife will go back to work. I'm thinking about a part-time job myself, for no other reason than I can feel like I'm still a "Part" of things. Also, it will pay the bills. Like I say, I don't need it, but it'll be nice to have some money coming in other than interest and dividends.
I'm also thinking about hitting the festival circuit and selling prints, T-shirts, and coffee mugs. I don't really care about making money, as long as it pays for itself.

You know, I really don't need to even think like that. I'm still working, but now I'm working for myself.

Sooo impressed with your attitude and work ethic even if you say "you have nothing to worry about". When I picture internet folk in my head you are not one of those people that I picture sat on their ass waiting for things to happen. You (unfortunately) had some things fall in your lap... so what do you do, expect things to fall into place and sort themselves out? NO. you wonder how you can work on things like your drawing and your website and how you can make things happen and how you can actually DO stuff. Too many people want things to happen to them yet you are making it happen by DOING. I really hope I get to meet you when you come over to the UK. Lisa x
