I've been moving furnature from my parent's house all day. I've smashed both my thumb and my right big toe. It was 90 degrees in the shade and all those big old antiques weighed at least a ton each...ah moving. It makes for a snuggly love-nest with your wife.
Let's do a composite story. I'll start.......
The Gibbet On The Moor
The sky was a hovering, dripping mass of grey. It was a full hour before sunset, but you couldn't tell. It was dim misery and the road wound through the bare trees of February with only a few fallen leaves for company. You could just glimpse the green moor that marked the end of the forest.
The Highwayman waited.
He still wore most of his old uniform. After years of fighting for the crown, he was cast aside, with no home to go back to, and no hope of a decent job. All he had left was his old horse pistol and his long knife. He was hungry, cold, and alone. He needed a horse and he needed money.
He had been at Waterloo. He knew how to keep his powder dry and he knew how to kill.

The smell of smoke and death from that day were still with him like living things inside his memory. As the fog blew in across the moor his nose twitched as the scent that lay beyond that veil. A coach moved swiftly along the road and the highwayman watched the single lantern bounce and shake as it came towards him. The small tree he had felled would block the coaches passage. He drew the woolen scarf around his mouth like a second skin and and cocked his hat throwing his face into the shadow of the grave.

He stepped from the shadows and brandished his musket at the driver. His luck was in; the driver was an experienced fellow and and was able to keep the horses under control as he came to a halt.
Keeping one eye, not to mention his weapon, focussed on the coachman he wrenched open the door of the carriage to reveal its passenger.
