Quite enjoyed this. Set in early fifties hollywod it deals with a hollywood pressman/fixer 'Hop' Hopkins and basically his investigation into a womans disappearance/murder and his own involvement in it... Very 'noir' BUT if i'd read it a few years ago (before David Peace, Ray Banks, Jim Thompson etc.) maybe the violence and degredation would've affected me more... as it was I'd say this was a good read but not a great one.
