This is my first review on here, because rarely does a film move me enough to write my response, but SNOTD had that profound an effect on me.
The characters were completely rounded and believeable, not just one-dimensional caricatures and stereotypes, honest. And every plot twist took me completely by surprise, yet made perfect sense in retrospect. The special effects were brilliant too, especially the laser beams, which you could hardly tell had been drawn on with a highlighter pen.
There is always a danger of appearing misogynistic when you base a plot around a stag night, but there wasn't just the one token female in this film - there were three! One was the nagging, cheating bride to be, who was "gagging for it" from the best man, one was the nymphomaniac zombette with a penchant for cock-biting, and the other was the stripper. But she wasn't really a stripper, she was a student paying off a loan, so that made it alright.
Finally, this film was really funny too; a TV news reporter was called Georgina Romero, a really well thought out in-joke that that will appeal to the very best of zombie aficionados, and must have taken months of intensive brainstorming to come up with. Then there was the running gag about the groom losing the deposit on his damaged suit. That one had me in stitches throughout every one of its nineteen repetitions.
To sum up, this is a genre-defining movie; once you've seen this, you'll never want to watch another zombie film again.
