My name is Anthony Watson and I live in Northumberland in the North East of England. When not walking in the beautiful countryside that surrounds me, I like to write

That trademark second person tense again, and a little Yoda-ism to boot! Mr Karswell, you're really spoiling us...

You are welcome. (See what I did there!) Glad you enjoyed. (Though the Yoda reference didn't occur to me when I wrote it. Perhaps it should have... )

I've been offline since before Christmas and in that time I managed to get published. "Elder's End" is in Sanitarium Magazine #16. Well I never.

Blimey, the forum's gone all swanky... (And that picture on the left is a scarily accurate likeness).
Got the anticipated rejection from DarkFuse for the novel so onwards and upwards with that. Just finished the first draft of the second story featuring my Filter House character. The Sentinel currently comes in at 8,100 words so that'll probably go up. (It's actually a second draft - my wife read the first draft and pointed out all the weaknesses I knew were in there so it's pretty much a re-write, but much better for it).

ah boo. not got much left to read so thoughts are coming -they are mainly what i said regarding my first readings of the parts you sent but i shall re-cap in an email.
great news re the filter house character. both he and the nature of that tale are stories i'd like to see developed over a series of shorts

Cheers Ben. Finished the first edit of The Sentinel, just need a couple of character names now and it's done. 8,100 words which is a long short story and only slightly longer than The Filter House. A funny length to try and sell so am seriously considering CreateSpace to sell them as Kindle shorts and have created an account. We'll see.
Given the old adage of "write what you know" I've totally ignored it and started a new story about a blues musician in the deep south of America in the 1920s.

Doing final edits on my blues story "Indigo". Might stick it on Amazon but given the first three singles are sliding gently rather than flying off the shelves I may rethink. Novel's gone off to Dark Regions who currently have an open submissions... Adapting an old story to send off to darkmarkets.com/life-of-the-dead/ so am delving into zombie territory.

Just subbed my zombie story but saw on the website that they'd moved the deadline from end of May to end of April so chances are that's dead in the water. Hey ho. Ne'er mind, fortunately I've found this: darkmarkets.com/state-of-horror-louisiana/ - which could work out nicely for the story I'm editing now about the Blues musician...

Just sent off "Indigo" for the State of Horror anthology. Decided to write it in first person so have spent most of the morning replacing g with an apostrophe. I didn't realise there were so many words ending in -ing. Won't be doin' that again in a hurry.
