A few years ago when we did apocalyptic stories I touched on some ramification of mass death and the fall of society such as all of the nuclear power plants melting down. Well, in most zombie stories there is no longer electricity, but what of the power plants, fallout, wild fires, and so on? It’s a lot to work with, but I bugs me that it’s never really touched on. Do any of you know of any zombie stories that include fallout?

not that i can think of, would be a good theme to run with - how many zombies (and survivors) would actually be destroyed by the natural world (floods, wildfires, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados) - with some of these zombies could become changed or turn up in strange places! and also the fallout from man made things like power plants going into meltdown, bridges collapsing from lack of maintenance, dams breaking etc

Not about zombies, but, I read Swan Song by Robert r McCammon over Christmas and that goes into great detail about the after-effects of nuclear war.
