Hey guys. I'm moving to your neck o' the woods in the next year or ten.. so what I'm wondering is, which part of jolly ole England should I set up shop? I plan on accepting a Brit wife at some point and starting a family, preferably a non-psycho first time breeder with a penchant for Ligotti and Proust, but also knows how to have a good time 'in tha' pubs' if you know what aye mean mate.. Also she should realize when I'm in my 'quiet time' and need the proper space to unwind and not go all Americano Loco on you wrong lane drivin' Guinness slurpin' dry snarkin' son of a saxon bitches..
So here're my options for now...
Geordieland, where the ever mysterious and aloof Karswell do dwell...
Londontown, where I'm just as likely to be stabbed on the Tube as I am to meet up with some bare-chested Benediction fairly well read in American Crime Noir.
Mersyside, where phony Dracules dwell, and also, I assume, plenty of Beatles Museums. And probably plenty of unsolved prostie slashings to boot. Or as you boys say, 'In the boot'.
Or how about the West Country? Where that good natured goob Clayton Stealback spends his time raising a family, writing not quite excellent horror tales and moonlighting in the gay porn industry?
Or, lastly, but not leastly, the West Midlands, birthplace of Black Sabbath and Shakespeare, and of course, that publishing giant, Dark Minds... at least there I'll be close my English publishing roots, where my dark lonely tree tried to grow on a bleak usually unresponsive moor. I thought England had good annual rain totals? Who the fuck knew..
So those are my options as of now.. any thoughts?
